Cleared for Takeoff!

Dear Fellow Aviation Friends!

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are pleased to announce its time for our first conference in three years. Due to COVID we had to cancel ARAMC 20 and 21. This conference marks the 42nd Annual Atlantic Region Aircraft Maintenance Conference and will be held on April 20th – 22nd, 2022 at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel, located on the city’s historic waterfront in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The theme of the ARAMC 2022 conference is Cleared for Takeoff!

The Hotel has reserved a block of rooms for the conference delegates at the special conference rate of $185 CDN per night plus taxes. This room block is available now, we strongly urge you to make your reservations early to ensure that a room is available. You may book using the following link:

The ARAMC registration desk will be at your service, commencing Wednesday afternoon. It will be located adjacent to the display and conference area on the 2nd floor. Wednesday evening is our annual “Meet and Greet”. This is a great opportunity to renew old acquaintances. Come early and enjoy some Nova Scotia hospitality. Covid protocols will be in place all week.

We are working on having the A.M.E. Association present a Human Factors (HF) session on Wednesday afternoon (Registration for this course will be via the website), followed by the Technical Program beginning on Thursday morning. It promises to be interesting and very informative for AMEs, apprentices, students, aircraft owners and operators. We are very excited this year to run concurrent sessions thorough most of the day on Thursday. The curriculum meets the Transport Canada Up-date training requirements as outlined in CAR 573.06. ARAMC 2022 is a forum where aviation personnel and distributors interact and conduct business. We expect to have over 40 display booths. A displayer sponsored luncheon will be held Thursday, April 19th for all registered delegates. We will also be holding a Skills Competition. Again this year, we will be holding an Industry Social, in the Exhibit area on Thursday afternoon. All the details are not finalize yet, but watch our website for more details as it becomes available.

Thursday evening promises to be an exciting event. Our annual Awards Banquet will be held. This is our opportunity to honor those outstanding Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and their companies in the Atlantic Region for their contributions to their trade. The nomination forms will be available on our website. The entertainment for the evening promises to end the night with a laugh. Friday, April 20th, is another day for the Technical Program and displays.

Delegate Registration

The Forgoing Posted 2/11/2022

Our 42nd ARAMC 2022 is scheduled for April 20th – 22nd, 2022, at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel, here in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  Our ARAMC 2022 committee consists of many talented people!  They include Pat Smith, Eric Richard, Brian Pike, Gerald Mallon, Jason Crowell, Neil Harding and Anneke Urquhart.  We have been meeting since November 2021.  Although COVID is putting a damper on things we are still planning and working towards having a great conference. We are hoping that the restrictions will lift enough for us to have a successful conference.  We all need an opportunity to get together!

The Theme for this year’s conference is “Cleared for Takeoff”.  We think this is appropriate given everything that is going on around us!  Our displayer package is already out and we are having a great response back.  Our delegate mailout will go out this week.  The main schedule of the ARAMC will not change.  Display set up is on Wednesday, Meet and Greet Wednesday evening with the main part of the conference starting Thursday morning and ending mid afternoon on Friday.  We will have the annual awards dinner on Thursday night. We are planning on holding a Skills Competition as well on Thursday.

We have Jim Penwell with IMP Aerospace looking after this for us.  Our speaker committee is hard at work.  They have come up with a great tentative program and are steady at work finalizing the schedule.  Should you know someone who would like to do a presentation that would be of interest to our group, please reach out to our speaker chair- Pat Smith via email at

The A.M.E. Association will be holding an HF course starting on Wednesday morning April 20.  Watch for further information on this on our website and on Facebook.

Please watch our website at and our Facebook page for more details as things develop.  Feel free to send any questions/suggestions to our emails listed below.

It’s time for our first ARAMC conference in three years!  Due to COVID-19 we had to cancel ARAMC 2020 and ARAMC 2021.  Our ARAMC 2022 committee has started planning for our upcoming conference.  Mark these dates!  April 20 – 22, 2022.  The conference will be held at the Westin Hotel, Halifax, Nova Scotia.  We will following the standard format. Booth set up on Wednesday the 20nd, followed by Meet and Greet that evening.  Thursday and Friday will be two days of information sessions along with a room full of exhibitors.  When we had the conference here in Halifax in 2018, we held a Skills Competition.  This went over very well; we will be doing the same in ARAMC 2022.  We also held an Industry Social in the exhibit hall, again, we plan to do the same.  We are always looking for new ideas, new presenters, new topics and new displayers.  If you know of anyone that might be interested in presenting or exhibiting, please pass along our contact information.  If there is something you would like to see, please let us know.

Our displayers packages will be going out in a few weeks.  We hope to have a tentative program by mid-January.  We will post on the website.  Delegate packages will go out end of January.  If you would like to receive a package, please let us know!  Both the displayer package and the delegate package will be available on the website once they are available.

As well please note that the AME Association will be conducting a HF course on Wednesday April 20.  This will be a full day course and meets the requirements for both initial and recurrent training.  Watch for further info on our website.

Hello, Industry People:

Finally…we’re Cleared for Takeoff! It’s been a long, uncertain road with all that Covid-19 has imposed on us but, on behalf of the Committee, we’re excited to say we’re in the early planning stages for the 2022 Atlantic Region Aircraft Maintenance Conference (ARAMC). This will be the 42nd year for this great event, after a 2-year hiatus thanks to the Pandemic. We’re happy be hosting it in Halifax, from April 20-22, 2022. We’re rolling up our sleeves and are ready to get to work!

As many know already, the Halifax ARAMC is a mainstay for an event of its size; 300-plus displayers and delegates consistently attend year-after-year . In spite of the Pandemic, we’re proud to say we’ve not had to increase our registration fees. We anticipate hitting the ground running, and that there’ll be a renewed enthusiasm on all fronts for next year’s Conference. I anticipate a robust interest, so be sure to reserve your spot sooner than later. There’s also the inventive of the Early Bird rate of $805.00, which is good until March 18. Thereafter, the regular rate of $875.75 will stand.

As a non-profit event, we rely on financial support via Coffee/Lunch Break sponsorship. Your company name/logo will be prominently displayed during these breaks. Door Prize, Silent Auction, and prize donations for our Critique Sheet prize- draw would also be greatly appreciated.

A formal agenda will be provided in the new-year; however, here’s a general overview: April 20th will be set-up- day, followed by the Meet-and-Greet in the evening. The conference officially begins on the 21st with the Awards Banquet being held that evening. Booth teardown begins at noon on the 22nd. Technical Sessions continue until mid-afternoon, with closing remarks by the Chair, closing of Silent Auction, and prize-draws for delegates, concluding the event.

The ARAMC speaker committee is seeking education session proposals for the 2022 conference. Educational sessions must provide content relevant to aircraft maintenance operations, safety, or professional development and may not be specific company marketing/sales presentations, or otherwise commercial in nature. Presentations will be selected based on industry need/priority and quality of the response for this call for speakers.

The continued support of exhibitors will be a key enabler to the success of the ARAMC 2022, and is as always much appreciated. Please submit proposals to Eric Richard and Pat Smith at your earliest convenience. Include presenter’s name, company, and title, with presentation title and brief description.
I look forward to seeing you in April. Please help us continue to make this great event a success as we continue to recover as an industry!
